Driven by a curiosity for materials and techniques, Betty Montarou’s work evolves through an experimental and sensitive approach. The outcomes reflect the inspiration and process behind them.
From the start of her studies in Product Design at the Ecole Boulle in Paris, Betty Montarou met the ceramist Ulrike Weiss since then engaged in a parallel learning, which led her to an exchange year focused on ceramic and glass design, first in Denmark (DKDS, Copenhagen) and then in Germany (Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule, Halle).
After her diploma in 2014, she has worked at studio Sebastian Herkner in Frankfurt-Germany, where she developed her sense for colors and textures within the fields of object, furniture and interior design.
Since 2018, Betty Montarou runs her own product & ceramic design studio in Frankfurt am Main.
